Appeal over player ruling falls flat
There's anger and frustration among the Ellan Vannin football squad, after ConIFA rejected an appeal about an opposition player.
Barawa beat the Manx side 2-0 in their final group match which, coupled with Cascadia's 6-0 win over Tamil Eelam, meant Ellan Vannin failed to qualify for the quarter-finals on goal difference.
But there's controversy about Barawa's second and third group matches, as they were allowed to replace a player in their squad after the tournament had started.
An appeal by the Manx International Football Alliance about ConIFA's initial ruling seemed to have been successful, but that decision was then reversed.
