Picks up Merit Award at Parish Walk presentation
A packed Villa Marina sang Happy Birthday to Emma Healy at the Manx Telecom Parish Walk Awards presentation last night.
20 year-old Emma picked up the Merit Award after walking to Santon on Saturday.
She set the personal goal as part of her recovery from a brain tumour and also raised £1,300 for Manx Cancer Help.
There was also an award for long service to Mitch and Celia Joughin who have marshaled at the event for nearly fifty years - a large amount of that time has been staffing the check-in at Jurby Church.
The Manx Telecom Corporate Team went to Friends 4 Chris - May Hooper, Helen Cross, Ian Bell and Julia Kiefer who completed 264.5 miles between them.
The Ladies Team winners were Family with a Hatt-on - Maureen Moffatt, June Melvin, Jessica Hatton and Rebecca Moffatt walked the full 340 miles in a total combined time of 89 hours, 36 minutes and fifty-two seconds.
And the Overall Team victory went to Organ Donation Isle of Man - Richard Gerrard, James Quirk, Paul Clark and David Walker all finished in an astonishing combined time of 72 hours, 17 minutes and 12 seconds - an average of just over 18 hours for each competitor!
