Sociable event to remember Manx teenager
In just under a month's time (Sun 12 Aug), Laxey football club is hosting an informal five-a-side football event to raise money for charity, in memory of a Manx teenager.
'A kick-about for Jamie' has been held each August since 2010, to remember Jamie Haslett, who was killed in a collision with a car as he crossed the road at university eight years ago.
Family fun, inclusivity and non-competitive atmospheres are paramount in this sociable event - entry costs £25 per team, with all proceeds going to local charity Victim Support, who were of help to the 19-year-old's family after the incident.
