Island rider helps national team take gold in the Netherlands

Isle of Man equestrian competitor, Yasmin Ingham and Great Britain have won this year's inaugural FEI Eventing Nations Cup Final.

The Island rider - now based in the UK - was one of four competitors to steer the GB squad to victory during the event in Boekelo, Netherlands last weekend.

The British team of Ingham, Kirsty Chabert, Katie Magee and Gemma Stevens topped the standings with 84 points.

In second place were Germany on 87.0 points whilst rounding out the top three were Ireland on 97.50 points.

Separately, Ingham finished seventh overall in the individual standings along with horse, Kinda Corvette.

On social media, Ingham says it's 'so exciting' to have been part of the GB team to take gold at the meeting, adding her horse was 'simply outstanding' throughout the competition.

Meanwhile, Great Britain's Chef d'Equipe, Philip Surl told FEI: “I’m very proud of them all and the three horses here are all nine-year-olds, which is even more special and very exciting for the future.

“It’s a unique event and now with Boekelo being a final, rather than just another leg of the Nations Cup, it’s changed the dynamic of the competition and the event has a real Championship feel.”
