There will be a rally at the end of October after all.
The Manx Auto Sport Stages Rally will take place on the same dates vacated by the cancelled Manx International event.
A different organisation is taking on the challenge, and there will be no Castletown stages and fewer road closures.
It has the full backing of the Departments of infrastructure and economic development.
Manx Auto Sport Limited chairman Mark Ellison says it's important the Isle of Man is seen to promote motorsport:
Rugby: Island ladies selected for UK side
Football: Corinthians win late against Peel to book FA Cup final spot
Rugby: Douglas just pipped at Widnes
