Ravens hoping to shrug off back-to-back defeats

For the second time in less than a month, FC Isle of Man are set to take on Longridge Town in the NWCFL Premier Division with the Islanders hoping to shake off back-to-back defeats.

After both sides played out a draw at The Bowl three weeks ago, 'The Ravens' head to Lancashire for the reverse fixture between the sides tomorrow afternoon (22 November).

Continuing to hover five points above the relegation zone, victory for FC Isle of Man this weekend could see them move up as many as two places to 19th in the table.

Their hosts, meanwhile, will be hoping to keep up a run of strong recent form which has seen them suffer defeat just once in their last six outings.

Consecutive home losses for FC Isle of Man against Pilkington and West Didsbury & Chorlton ended a previous run of six matches unbeaten which was the Manx side's long undefeated streak of the campaign to date.

Elsewhere, by the time Saturday rolls around it will have been two weeks since Longridge Town last took the field in a 4-3 league win over Euxton Villa.

Between then and now, Lee Ashcroft's side have seen one match abandoned and two postponed in all competitions, all due to poor weather conditions.

Whilst Longridge Town boast the far better record in the league standings so far this season up in tenth spot, Inglewhite Road has been a happy hunting ground for FC Isle of Man who have won on all of their previous three visits.

Longridge Town vs FC Isle of Man is due to get underway tomorrow at Inglewhite Road at 1.30pm.
