Island side's hosts undefeated at Gigg Lane so far this season

A daunting task awaits FC Isle of Man this evening as they travel to face NWCFL Premier Division league leaders Bury tonight (4 February).

This evening's tie at Gigg Lane - rearranged from last month - pits the Island side against a Bury outfit which remains undefeated in the league on home soil.

'The Ravens' could move to within four points of the play-offs should they upset the odds and take victory whilst their hosts could go at least temporarily four points clear at the summit if they take maximum points.

FC Isle of Man Manager Paul Jones is aware of the sizeable task in front of them, but believes his squad can thrive on being considered underdogs tonight and enjoys proving doubters wrong:

Along with being yet to taste defeat in the league on their own patch, Bury are also the leagues top scorers having netted 98 times in 34 games so far in their current pursuit of the title.

The visitors meanwhile are one of the highest-scoring sides on their travels in the NWCFL Premier Division to this point with FC Isle of Man finding the net away from home 38 times.

Only Bury (53) and Chadderton (52) have scored more on the road so far.

The reverse fixture between Bury and FC Isle of Man at The Bowl in September 2024 ended in a stalemate as Ben Hockenhull scored a 95th minute equaliser for 'The Shakers' in a 1-1 draw.

Bury vs FC Isle of Man kicks off tonight at Gigg Lane at 7.45pm.
