Ravens boss hoping for different game from defeat to latest hosts in August

FC Isle of Man's battle to compete for the NWCFL Premier Division promotion play-off spots continues this weekend as they travel to Longridge Town

'The Ravens' head to Lancashire on Saturday (19 October) on the back of their first win of the month last weekend, beating in-form Padiham 2-1 six days ago.

They face a Longridge team which ground out a determined 1-0 win against the Manx side in August despite playing most of that match at The Bowl with ten men.

FC Isle of Man Manager Paul Jones admits his team struggled that day to create many opportunities but is hopeful things will be different this time around:

The Island team go into their latest trip just outside the top five - seventh in the standings on 30 points - just one point outside those play-off positions currently.

The two teams just above them in FC St Helens and West Didsbury & Chorlton are just point better off but both have four games in hand on FC Isle of Man heading into this weekend.

Whilst it was Longridge Town who edged the last contest between the two sides in August, FC Isle of Man may be encouraged by their current positive away record against Lee Ashcroft's outfit with Paul Jones' players having enjoyed wins on their last two visits to Longridge.

Elsewhere - after a strong start to the campaign - Longridge Town's form has dipped slightly in recent weeks with one win in their last six in all competitions.

Currently sat in 12th after 17 games on 25 points they could climb as high as eighth should they take maximum points on home turf tomorrow.
