Ravens hoping to build on first win of the season last time out
Nearly two weeks since last taking to the field, FC Isle of Man are back in action tomorrow night when they host Longridge Town in the NWCFL Premier Division.
The Manx side have made an unbeaten start in their first two league games - a 2-2 home draw in their season opener against Chadderton on 27 July was following by a 3-1 victory away at Irlam on Tuesday, 30 July.
FC Isle of Man Manager Paul Jones hopes the extra time between their last outing and now has had a positive effect on his players.
However, he says they'll have to assert themselves against a Longridge side who he believes have plenty of strong qualities:
Of the four meetings between the two sides to date, FC Isle of Man have won three of those including the last meeting on Saturday, 9 March 2024.
There Longridge Town took a 2-0 lead through Scott Harries and Ryan McLean in a blistering first-half display before the Manx side rallied back with strikes from Sean Doyle, Dan Hattersley and Ste Whitley to snatch victory.
Lee Aschcroft's Longridge side have registered a win and a loss in their opening two league fixtures - A 1-0 opening day home win over Burscough on 27 July was followed by a 4-0 defeat on their travels at Charnock Richard on 30 July.
Their most recent outing took place last Saturday (3 August) with a 2-0 win on home turf against Cheadle Town in the extra preliminary round of the FA Cup.
FC Isle of Man vs Longridge Town takes place this Saturday (10 August) at The Bowl in Douglas, kicking-off at 6pm.
