FC Isle of Man hoping to build from big win last weekend
Three weeks on from their last home contest, FC Isle of Man return to The Bowl in Douglas in the NWCFL Premier Division this weekend to face FC St Helens.
The Manx side - fresh from a much-needed win last time out - face an FC St Helens squad currently pushing for a place in the top-five.
Both meetings between the two sides last season proved to be entertaining affairs with 14 goals netted across those two matches.
Should FC Isle of Man manage back-to-back victories for the first time this season this weekend, three points could take them as many as seven points clear of the relegation zone.
During last season, the first meeting between the teams saw FC St Helens take the spoils in a thrilling 5-4 win at the SMS Pro Soccer Park in August 2024.
FC Isle of Man then took revenge in December last year in the reverse fixture as a second-half stoppage time winner from Ste Whitley saw them emerge 3-2 victors over their opponents.
Fast forward to now and a big points gulf separates the two at this stage of the current campaign with FC St Helens 12 points better off in ninth compared to FC Isle of Man down in 20th.
Should Mike Smith's FC St Helens outfit claim maximum points on Manx soil this weekend, they could move to within two points of the promotion play-off spots, depending on results elsewhere.
FC Isle of Man vs FC St Helens takes place at The Bowl in Douglas this Saturday, with kick-off scheduled for 6pm.
