Brookes and Hickman go quickest ahead of first races
FHO Racing riders Peter Hickman and Josh Brookes have topped the standings during the final qualifying session of TT 2024.
They set the fastest pace in the Superbike and Superstock classes respectively as the 1000cc machines were given more track time ahead of the opening Supersport contest this afternoon.
Brookes' benchmark of 131.447mph was the top Superstock pace, just 0.7 seconds clear of James Hillier (131.351mph) with Hickman making up the top three (130.57mph).
Roles were then reversed in the Superbike class as Hickman's speed from a standing start at 133.494mph was enough to edge out Michael Dunlop by 0.4 seconds with the Ballymoney man registering 133.431mph, also from a standing start.
Brookes then completed the top three in third at 132.483mph.
Meanwhile Davey Todd - who's consistently been contending at the top of the 1000cc classes during this week - chose not to go out for the session.
Next up on the mountain course will be the 40 Years of Arai at the TT Parade Lap, due to get underway at 1.30pm.
That will be followed by the first race of TT 2024 - the Supersport TT Race 1 over four laps - currently scheduled to start at 2.45pm.
After that will be the Sidecar TT Race 1 at 5.15pm over three laps.
