Programme includes financial support to compete & train
Competition may be sparse in the world of sport but fifty-one local athletes have won themselves scholarships from IOM Sport.
Those chosen will benefit from a one-year programme that will see them acting as sporting ambassadors for the Island.
They'll also get financial support to help with travel, equipment, and access to facilities at the IOM Sport Institute, available from the start of next month. (1 April).
Among the athletes selected are enduro star Danny McCanney and race walker Erika Kelly, they, along with the 49 others will formerly receive their certificates at the IOM Sports Awards on 2 June.
A full list of the athletes selected can be found here.
Tickets for the ceremony can be bought here.
