Two-way tie in winter league opener
There was a dramatic finish to the first round of the Cu Plas Callow winter sporting league at Meary Veg in Santon yesterday (Sunday).
Only one point separated the top five shooters and it was a triumph for John Moore and Dave Lally who tied on 40 points to take the top prize.
There was a three way tie for the runners-up spot in A class between Nigel Kelly, Alan Wade and Dave Clague on 39 points.
Peter Kelly was a clear victor in the B class with 36 points from junior Arran Wade on 31 and Tom Keggen in third place on 30.
Brian Faragher took the C class honours on 30 points, three ahead of Roy Moore with Rob Marshall a further four behind in third position.
