Opening ceremony welcomes visiting athletes
More than a hundred gymnasts from eight island nations are taking part in the Inter-Island Games competition, which begins today.
It's being hosted at the Ellan Vannin Gymnastics Club in Douglas over the next three days, after the sport was omitted from the official Island Games schedule at the recent event in Gibraltar.
Visiting athletes from Aland, Cayman Islands, Gotland, Guernsey, Jersey, Shetland and Ynys Mon will join their Manx counterparts as they battle it out for medals.
Isabel Hester has competed for the Isle of Man on a number of occasions and currently represents Loughborough University.
She spoke to Manx Radio Sport at the opening ceremony on Wednesday night:

Hockey: League titles and relegations could be decided this weekend
Rugby: Douglas hoping to maintain high standing at Firwood Waterloo
Football: Laxey and Onchan out to secure Railway Cup spots
