Athletes hoping to make the cut for final team
Five of the Island's cyclists have been included in the provisional Great Britain squad for the upcoming Union Cycliste Internationale Road World Championships later this month.
Mark Christian, Peter Kennaugh, Anna Christian, Matthew Bostock and Amelia Sharpe have all been named on the 'long list' for the event, which takes place in Austria from 23 to 30 September.
Mark Christian and Peter Kennaugh have been shortlisted to compete in the Elite Men's Road Race - eight of the 15 names listed will take part.
Anna Christian is one of ten names put forward for the Women's Elite Road Race, six of which will ride.
Matt Bostock is hoping to be one of five that competes in the under-23 Men's Road Race - five others will miss out.
Last but not least, Amelia Sharpe has reached the final eight names in the mix for the Junior Women's Road Race, five of which will compete.
