Football: 2026/27 Manx season to begin this weekend

Opening fixtures of new campaign taking place tomorrow (29 Aug)

The 2026/27 Isle of Man football season officials kicks into life across Manx shores this weekend.

This Saturday (29 August) sees the opening fixtures of the latest campaign take place across all four senior men's divisions.

Among the ties, 2026 Eric Fletcher Charity Shield winners, Peel, begin the defence of their Canada Life Men's Premier League title at home to Ramsey.

Meanwhile, among the standouts to start Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Division 2, Ayre United - who took voluntary relegation from the top flight this summer - begin life in the second tier with a tricky away test at Pulrose United.

Also in Division 2, it's a new chapter for the newly-merged Gymns and Douglas Athletic (competing under the name of Gymns) as they start a new era by welcoming St George's.

All but three of tomorrow's clashes are scheduled to start at 2.30pm.

The only exceptions are Douglas Royal vs Douglas & District in Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Division 2 (1pm KO); St Mary's vs Braddan in Canada Life Combination One (1.45pm KO) and Douglas & District vs Douglas Royal in Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Combination Two (3pm KO).
