Team preparing for two friendlies and two tournaments this summer
Twenty-five players have been called up to the Isle of Man women's national football team training squad for 2026.
The team - run by manager, Wayne Lisy - is set to take part in a mix of competitive and non-competitive fixtures between now and the end of July.
They will face two friendlies next month - first a trip to Preston North End on Saturday, 9 May and then a week later they travel to FC United of Manchester on Saturday, 16 May.
The following month, the Manx side will head to Guernsey on 26-27 June for the second edition of the Cherry Godfrey Cup with the Isle of Man heading there as defending champions in the competition.
Outside of that, there are also plans to host a 'triangular tournament' on Manx shores in July with details still to be confirmed.
Looking ahead, Mr Lisy says:"This mini-tournament will help maintain our football momentum as we begin to look ahead to the Island Games 2027.
"It will also give me the opportunity to provide valuable game time to players not selected for the Cherry Godfrey Cup squad.
"All in all, it promises to be a fantastic summer of football for our national women’s team."
The Isle of Man women's team were last in competitive action at the 2025 International Island Games in Orkney last July.
There, they went on to claim the silver medal in the women's football tournament, only losing out on penalties in the final against Bermuda.
Before that, they won the inaugural Cherry Godfrey Cup event in Jersey in 2024.
