Football: Hospital Cup and Junior Cup hotting up

Four still in the hunt for promotion from Division 2

Six teams have the chance to book their place in the finals of either the Manx Quality Sheds Hospital Cup or Ascot Hotel Junior cup in this weekend's Isle of Man football action.

Today (9 May) one semi-final tie awaits in the Hospital Cup with another quarter-final tie to also be played this afternoon with Saturday also featuring a selection of league clashes across the four senior men's divisions.

In the semi-finals of the competition, both Rushen United and Onchan will be out to secure their spot in the final showdown when both meet at Croit Lowey later on.

The remaining quarter-final fixture between Corinthians and Ayre United - rearranged from last weekend - will be held at Ballafletcher, with the winner to face St George's in the next phase.

Elsewhere today, four teams - Ramsey Youth Centre & Old Boys (Rycob.), Castletown, Pulrose United and Marown - all remain mathematically in the hunt for the final promotion spot in Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Division 2 ahead of Saturday's match-ups.

In Division 2, Rycob. host Douglas Royal; Pulrose United welcome league champions, Colby whilst Marown and Castletown face off against each other.

On Sunday, the semi-finals of the Ascot Hotel Junior Cup await - Ramsey will last year's finalists, Rushen United and Onchan will lock horns with Braddan
