Football: Huge Div 2 title showdown between Onchan and Foxdale

Ayre still hunting premier league crown ahead of trip to Ramsey (Fixtures: 7-9 May)

A potentially pivotal clash in the DPS Ltd. Division 2 title race is part of another busy schedule of midweek matches in Isle of Man football starting later today (7 May).

Onchan - top of the table after 20 games on 53 points - welcome second-placed Foxdale who are two points back but with a game in hand on their hosts.

Elsewhere, Ayre United can close the gap at the top of the Canada Life Men's Premier League when they take on Ramsey this evening.

Ayre lie second in the top tier standings - six points behind leaders Peel - however, the northern side have three games in hand on Peel who've now completed all their league matches.

Tomorrow sees the meeting of the top two sides in Canada Life Combination One as Rushen United welcome Ramsey.

Ramsey were crowned combination one champions two weeks ago, dethroning their opponents this week who took the title last year having managed a perfect record winning all 22 games.

Meanwhile, Onchan will be out to maintain their two-point lead at the top of DPS Ltd. Combination Two tomorrow night when they face off against Foxdale.

Hoping Onchan slip up will be Douglas High School Old Boys (Dhsob.) who take on Gymns - 'old boys' are two points back on Onchan having played a game more.

Rounding out the midweek schedule will be the final of this year's Cowell Cup competition for Under-21 sides.

Thursday at 7.45pm at The Bowl sees Corinthians face Peel.
