Southern club confirmed the death of Brian 'Ace' Lowey last weekend
Tributes are being paid following the death of Malew AFC Club President, Brian 'Ace' Lowey.
The southern club confirmed the news in an update on Sunday, 4 January, saying it's 'deeply saddened', adding Mr Lowey was 'proud of his village, devoted to his club, and respected by all those who knew him.'
Describing him as a 'true legend', Malew AFC goes on to say not only was he considered one of the best footballers they've ever had, but a great servant as a coach, committee member, groundsman, trustee, and later as Club President.
Furthermore, the club believes it is a 'profound loss - not just to Malew AFC, but to Ballasalla as a whole.'
Tributes are also being paid elsewhere, including from Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK, Tim Glover who says his thoughts are with the family and friends of both Mr Lowey and also long-serving club supporter, Dottie Kinnish who also passed away recently.
