Corkish double helps westerners beat resilient Onchan
Peel AFC have secured a league and cup double in women's football after a 2-0 victory in this year's Women's FA Cup final over Onchan on Sunday (21 April).
Favourites for the clash at The Bowl on Saturday, the westerners were made to work by a resilient Onchan side who frustrated Peel in the first half to see the first 45 end goalless.
The momentum changed in the second period as Peel captain Becky Corkish struck twice to earn her side their second piece of silverware of the campaign.
The latest cup glory adds to Peel winning the 2023/24 Canada Life Women's League crown which they were presented with last weekend (14 April).
In the remaining women's football competition this season Corinthians claimed the Canada Life Women's Floodlit Cup in February.
