Football: Prem title contenders Corinthians and Peel to meet

Big top-of-the-table clash at forefront of weekend clashes

The current top two contenders in the Canada Life Men's Premier League meet in a potentially mouth-watering clash as part of this weekend's Isle of Man football ties.

Undefeated Corinthians at the top host second-placed defending champions, Peel at Ballafletcher among the matches across the senior men's division tomorrow (13 December).

Seven points currently separate the sides, however Peel still have two games in hand going forward.

Just two points further back on the westerners are Laxey in third who head north to face Ayre United whilst Onchan in fourth - two points adrift of Laxey - are on the road at Ramsey.

Elsewhere, in Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Division 2, new frontrunners Colby - who host Douglas Royal - will be hoping to maintain or extend their slender one-point lead at the top.

Colby's southern rivals, Castletown sit just below in second but with a game in hand and are on a rest week this Saturday.

On Sunday (14 December) the Canada Life Women's Floodlit Cup continues with four teams having the chance to close the gap on current leaders and cup holders, Peel.

Corinthians could go top on goal difference if they were to take a big win over Onchan whilst Union Mills - still searching for their first win of the season - take on Malew.
