Manx amputee player helps Merseyside club to top honours

Manx amputee footballer Sean Jackson and Everton have been crowned England Amputee Football league champions for 2024.

The Island competitor and his team secured the silverware on Saturday (28 September) following a 1-1 draw with title rivals Portsmouth in the EAFL championship decider.

As a result, Everton finished the campaign on 27 points - three points clear of their south-coast opponents in second.

The player himself - who signed for the Merseyside club in 2023 - made a long-awaited debut for the team this year having missed the entirety of last year's campaign due to rupturing his anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL) in 2022.

Along with this domestic success, Jackson also represented England at this year's European Amputee Football Championships in France in June where they finished fourth.
