Gillings Starts World Cup Campaign

Zoe Gillings competes at the first round of the Snowboardcross World Cup later.

The season opener is at Chapelco in Argentina.

Qualifying is today with the top runners going through to the knock-out races to decide the finishing order tomorrow.

Zoe enjoyed great success last season, ending up 5th in the overall standings.

The 24-year-old from Ronague made the final at last year’s event at the same venue, eventually finishing in 4th place.

Earlier this week she won a silver medal in another event at Chapelco.
