Manx athlete Harriet Pryke has won gold at London's Olympic Stadium.
As the lead runner for Loughborough University's 4 x 400 relay team at the British University & Colleges outdoor Track & Field event, Harriet left the other university runners standing, giving her fellow teammates a 30m start at the end of the first lap.
Lucy James, Laura Wake and Megan Beesley built on this lead over the remaining laps, giving Loughborough a decisive victory in a new Championship nest performance record of 3.34.75 – five seconds faster than the previous record set in 2005.
Harriet had also been in action on Sunday in the UKA select 400m event where she finished fourt in a season's best time of 54.69.
Harriet was delighted with this first performance of the outdoor season, which she hopes to better over the coming weeks.
