A maximum entry of 81 players will play over 36 holes at Castletown Golf Course on Saturday in the qualifying rounds of the Grant Thornton-sponsored Isle of Man Golf Championship.
The Isle of Man Golf Union had in fact received a total of 99 entries, but had to ballot out 18 players.
Of the 81, 16 will progress to the match play stages of the competition, also at Castletown, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next week.
The two who make it through that will then contest the final on Saturday next week (June 21), to decide who will be crowned the 2014 Isle of Man golf champion.
Master scoreboards located at the clubhouse will keep everyone informed of the progress of individual players, and for those unable to make it to the course Manx Radio's golf correspondent, Roy Moore, will have live reports throughout the day.
