
Ryan Hampton part of big Manx team competing in UK last week
A young Manx gymnast has managed to secure a gold medal during the prestigious Men's London Open this year.
Competing in the Under-10 Boys class, nine-year-old Ryan Hampton set a score of 11.7 points on his floor routine to finish top of his class among some of the UK's most notable upcoming talents in the sport.
Elsewhere, he also claimed two top-ten finishes, managing sixth place in the rings competitions and eighth in the parallel bars.
Competing alongside Hampton in the Under-10 category was Brodie Hancox who went on to finish 23rd overall in class with a best score of 11.00 and 14th in the parallel bars.
Meanwhile, the Isle of Man had four athletes - Aidan Hampton, George Graham, Dehen Kruger and Jacques Kruger - taking on the Under-12 Boys tournaments.
Graham was the highest finisher of the group in 19th followed by Dehen Kruger in 23rd position.
Aidan Hampton finished the day in 32nd place whilst Jacques Kruger had to withdraw mid-competition due to injury.
