
Grant Halsall finished 7th in the 100m Backstroke Final at the British Swimming Championships in Sheffield.
He qualified as 7th fastest having set new Isle of Man Senior and Junior records with a time of 56.75 seconds.
Although his time in the final was slower at 57 seconds, it was still over a second quicker than the previous British record for the 15 year-old age group.
All the other finalists were at least three years older.
This morning the swimmer from Laxey goes in the heats of the 200m backstroke and tomorrow morning the heats of the 100m butterfly.
