Islander wins title in Bedford
Men’s javelin star Joe Harris has won the England Athletics UK Championships.
The Islander claimed the title in Bedford over the weekend.
The Manx Harrier unleashed a personal best of 75.71 to add more than four metres to his previous best and take the title from rival Joe Dunderdale (Sheffield & Dearne) who threw his season’s best of 74.88.
Another local, Alan Corlett, claimed 15th spot in the men’s 3km steeplechase.
Tri-athletes were in fine form over the weekend.
Becky Storrie, 18, of Ballasalla finished in an impressive second place in the Scottish National Aquathlon Championships.
Meanwhile, Juan Kinley was fourth overall and first in his age group in the Salford Olympic distance Triathlon.
