Five races conclude after opening session of Championship Day
Dean Harrison won the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Senior Race during the opening session of Championship Day today (9 July).
The seven-time TT winner started in pole position but he had to work hard for the victory after he fell behind Peter Hickman and Mike Browne early on.
And it was on the last lap where Harrison took newcomer Hickman on the exit of Cross Fourways to cross the line in just over 15 minutes and 32 seconds.
He spoke to Manx Radio after the race:
Elsewhere, Dan Sayle claimed the JCK Ltd 600cc B Race to start the day.
That was followed by the S&S Motors 600cc Race which was won by Mike Browne.
Richard Eglin then won the G H Corlett Solo Founders Race.
The opening session was brought to a close by Dale Brew with victory in the Station Garage Sportbike Consolation Race.
Roads on the Billown Circuit will close again at 1:30pm for the final four races of Championship Day.
The afternoon session is due to finish by 4.45pm.
