Mark Higgins is the overnight leader of Rally Isle of Man, and remains on course to become the first man to win the event five times.
With co-driver Brian Thomas, he will start Saturday over a minute ahead of the young Irishman Keith Cronin, who is also his big rival for the overall title.
The lead enjoyed by Higgins going into the second and final day is 62.4 seconds, while fellow Manx driver Steven Quine is fifth and Andrew Leece, another local competitor, is also in the top twelve.
On Manx Radio's The Back Page, Higgins acknowledged the Cronin challenge:
