Douglas side beat defending champions to continue perfect start
Bacchas A have maintained their perfect start in the Mixed Premier League in Manx hockey with a 5-3 victory over defending league champions Valkyrs A last night (6 November).
During Wednesday's rescheduled tie at King William's College, Andrew Whiting and Jamie Brown both netted twice as Bacchas powered to victory with Elliot Reid also on the scoresheet.
But they were made to work for maximum points as Greg Miller, Alex Kneale and Ollie Webster all found the net for Valkyrs to stay in contention.
This latest result sees Bacchas A extend their 100 per cent league record this campaign to seven wins from seven matches and move two points clear at the top on 14.
Behind them in second are Vikings A on 12 points whilst Valkyrs A miss the chance to draw level with Vikings and remain on 10 points in third, four points clear of Castletown Celts one place below.
Last night's match had previously been postponed from Saturday, 26 October due to the Isle of Man senior national teams being in England Hockey Knockout Championship competition that weekend.
The next set of Mixed League fixtures across the division are due to take place this coming Saturday (9 November).
