New pre-season event comes just ahead of new mixed campaign
Bacchas Mixed A hockey squad have been crowned winners of the inaugural Tim Leeming Charity Shield competition.
The Douglas-based side claimed the trophy following a 4-0 win over Castletown A in the final on Saturday afternoon (5 September).
Strikes from Jamie Brown, Tom Lothian, Elliot Reid and Sophie Hudson helped guarantee the win whilst Castletown's Mikey Lee was named Player of the Final.
That showdown followed a full day of hockey action which saw eight mixed teams from across the Island face off in a series of matches ahead of the 2026 Isle of Man season which is due to get underway later this week.
Outside of the sporting action, the event also went on to raise £2,250 for local charity, Isle Listen.
Manx Hockey Association is thanking the teams, volunteers and sponsors for being able to stage the event for the first time.
Looking ahead, the new Isle of Man mixed hockey season is due to get underway this coming Saturday (12 September) - you can view the opening fixtures HERE.
