England narrowly beaten by Australia in final match in Chile
Manx hockey competitor, Sienna Dunn and the England Under-21 Women's team have secured eighth place at this year's Junior Women's World Cup.
The national side took part in their final match of the tournament in Santiago, Chile on Friday, 12 December with a 3-2 defeat to Australia in the 7th/8th place play-off.
During that contest, England took the lead in the 28th minute through Jessica Dyson before a quick-fire double from Australia's Mihaylia Howells in the 38th and 40th minute put their opponents in front.
Australia extended their lead moments after on 41 minutes courtesy of Samantha Love; England pulled one back thanks to Hannah Boss a minute after that but it wasn't enough to avoid the loss.
Along with their eighth place finish, England end the competition with a record of two wins a four defeats.
Former Valkyrs player, Dunn was captaining the England squad this year and was also part of the same Under-21 team which finished fourth at the same event in 2023.
