Archie Cox was also part of England Talent Pathway last year
A rising talent in Isle of Man hockey has been called up to join one of the national development setups in the UK.
Castletown player Archie Cox has been invited to be part of the Welsh national age group training squads for 2025.
The Manx Hockey Association is describing it as a 'fantastic achievement' and gives the player the chance to train with 'the very best the sport has to offer.'
It comes after Cox was also involved in the England Talent Pathway during the previous campaign in 2024.
In previous years Cox has represented the Isle of Man at Under-14, Under-16 and Under-18 level - during that time he helped the Under-16 squad win the EH U16 Tier 2 Plate in 2023.
He since went on to captain the Under-18's side and also made his senior men's team debut during the latest County Championships.
Further afield, on the England Talent Pathway last year he helped the England Red Team to a fourth-placed finish at the 2024 UK Boys School Games, becoming only the second Manx player to reach that level.
