Ladies A victorious whilst Men's B fall to defeat
There was a mix of fortunes for two Isle of Man national hockey teams as they returned to England Hockey (EH) Championships action over the weekend.
The Isle of Man Ladies A and Isle of Man Men's B sides journeyed across the water on Saturday (14 February) for the latest phases of the EH Women's Tier 2 Plate and EH Men's Tier 3 Vase respectively.
During the earlier of the two contests on Saturday (14 February) at Northumbria University, the Isle of Man Ladies A earned a hard-fought 3-2 win up against Newcastle University Ladies 2nd XI.
Strikes from Ellan Cleator, Evie Watterson and Leah Mellor earned the squad passage to the next round of the competition.
Elsewhere, the Isle of Man Men's B team fell to a 3-1 defeat at Stockon Men's 2nd XI with Nathan Evans grabbing the only goal of the contest for the Manx visitors.
