Hockey: New mixed season enters second week

After a thrilling start to the season, week two of the Manx Hockey Association mixed leagues is upon us as well as the Mixed U15’s League.

In the Mixed Premier League, a close match looks to be on the cards when Valkyrs A welcome Harlequins A to the west of the island, the westerners coming into this game following a derby win over their B team, as for Harlequins, this will be their first league game of the season. 

Castletown Celts will be hoping for better luck after an opening day defeat last weekend - they face a Vikings A side who put eight past Castletown Southerners last weekend. 

Valkyrs B play Castletown Southerners in what could be a big early game for both sides, and finally, we have an inter club derby between Bacchas A and Bacchas B. 

In Mixed Division One, Ramsey A - who just pipped Harlequins B last weekend - face Bacchas C who were on the receiving end of a heavy defeat to Vikings B. 

Vikings B will be hoping they can keep their winning start up when they play Castletown Cammags whilst Valkyrs C face Harlequins B in a game that could be very close between two evenly-matched sides. 

In Mixed Division Two, Bacchas Colts meet Castletown Cosney who will want to put last weekend's result behind them, as for Bacchas Colts, they will be hoping they can keep their winning form up. 

Vikings D kick off their campaign this weekend, meeting Castletown Cushags who were on the end of a heavy defeat to Ramsey Ravens.

Ramsey Ravens play Vikings C who will be looking to try and get their first win of the season but the northerners are coming into this game on good striking form.

In Mixed Division Three, after opening weekend wins for both of our two new teams in this division, Valkyrs Mixed Colts meet Ramsey Robins - this could be a thrilling game between the two new sides and one I will definitely be keeping a eye on. 

Bacchas D play Ramsey Rookies both these sides just loosing out be one goal in their respective games whilst Harlequins C head south to play Castletown Carrick. 

Elsewhere, Vikings E - who just edged passed Bacchas D last weekend - play Harlequins D in a game that could be very close.
