Hockey: Premier league inter-club derby awaits this weekend

All leagues tightly contested in opening weeks of season (Fixtures - 16 Sept)

In the Mixed Premier league, Vikings A who had a great win last weekend meet Ramsey A who narrowly lost out to Vikings B. Valkyrs A welcome Vikings B this weekend with both teams hoping they can keep their winning form up. Castletown Celts welcome Harlequins A south with both teams looking for their first wins of the season. Finally Bacchas A play Bacchas B inter club derby.

In the Mixed Division One, Valkyrs B  play Bacchas C with both teams coming into this game following wins last weekend. Castletown Cammags will be hoping for better luck this weekend when they meet Valkyrs C after loosing out to Valkyrs B last weekend. Finally Vikings C meet Castletown Southerners who kicked off their season with a strong win.

In the Mixed Division Two, a close match could be on the cards when Vikings E play Bacchas Colts both teams come into this on the back of losses last time out but they both look evenly matched on paper. Ramsey Ravens who only just lost out to Castletown Cushags meet Vikings D who put a strong performance in last weekend. Valkyrs D play Castletown Cushags in what looks set to be a close match 

In the Mixed Division Three, Harlequins C play Castletown Cosney with both teams looking very equal to each other it could just be one goal that splits the two. Bacchas D who managed to draw with Cosney meet Ramsey Rookies who beat Castletown Carrick last weekend. Finally Castletown Carrick play Harlequins B who had a healthy win over their C team last Saturday. 

Finally in the Mixed U15’s, Vikings Play Castletown Sabres, Castletown Sharks play Valkyrs, Harlequins play Ramsey Rogues and Rascals and Bacchas B meet Bacchas A. 

This junior league is going to be great to watch develop with eight teams in it this season showing what new and upcoming talent there is. 

The draw for the Mixed Cup, Plate and Bowl first round will take places live on Manx Radio Saturday Sports Classified this weekend between 5pm-6pm.
