Island player helps side to IMC World Cup success
Isle of Man hockey player Lesley Shimmin and the England LX Over-65's team have won at this year's IMC World Cup.
The national side scooped a gold medal at the tournament in Auckland, New Zealand with a 2-0 win over Alliance IMC in the Women's Over-65's IMC Final.
It follows a grueling schedule for the team after a hectic scheduled involving six matches in seven days.
Congratulating Shimmin and the team on their achievement, the Manx Hockey Association says it's 'not only a personal milestone for Lesley but also a proud moment for the Isle of Man.'
The Island competitor joined the LX Club side last year for the European Cup in Bra, Italy before also representing the squad in Tilburg and The Hague during 2024.
