Manx side defeated in London
The Isle of Man Women's Over 45s Hockey side suffered a heartbreaking defeat in the Vase final on Monday (4 May).
A 3-2 win on shuffles saw Sonning Legends take the trophy.
The game was scoreless after the first half with the Berkshire club dominating large spells of the fixture.
However, the Manx side took the lead through Kelly Crowley in the third period.
Sonning came back in the final quarter though; relentless pressure eventually paying off with an equaliser seven minutes out from the final whistle.
The game headed to shuffles where Isle of Man found themselves 2-1 up thanks to two big saves by goalkeeper Jo Hicks.
Unfortunately for the Islanders though, the Berkshire side made no mistake with their fourth and fifth flicks, while the Manx team missed theirs.

Sonning won shuffles 3-2 and were handed the Over 45s Vase trophy.
