Another busy schedule expected to come next year
Recruiting more people to get involved in athletics locally will be important to helping it grow going into 2024.
That's the belief of one of the Island's local correspondents as the respective sports prepare for another busy schedule next year.
The programme in 2024 is due to kick-off with the St John's Fell Race on New Year's Day (1 January) with the Lancashire Cross-Country Championships following on 6 January.
Dave Griffiths thinks it remains key in the long run to get more volunteers to help the running and organising of local events:
