The Isle of Man Trades Union Council is calling on the chief minister to reveal just how much Tynwald members cost Manx taxpayers.
President of the organisation Angela Moffatt has written to Tony Brown asking for the total cost of members' pay, pensions and expenses. She also wants to know what extra payments and pension entitlements are accrued by Tynwald members who become ministers or members of government departments.
Ms Moffat has thrown down the gauntlet in the week Mr Brown has called for efficiencies in every corner of government, as part of a major restructuring exercise.
In her other role as negotiations officer for Prospect, Ms Moffatt has strongly opposed plans to streamline public sector pensions.
