Princess Royal to attend opening ceremony on 12 July
Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal will officially open the 2025 International Island Games in Orkney.
Princess Anne will attend the opening ceremony at Kirkwall's Bignold Park on Saturday, 12 July.
Running from 12-18 July, the event as a whole is expected to involve around 2,000 athletes from 24 Island groups, including the Isle of Man.
Director of Orkney 2025, Kirsty Talbot says they are 'incredibly honoured' to welcome the Princess Royal and they 'look forward to extending our famous Orcadian welcome to Princess Anne.'
Separately, it's already been confirmed the opening ceremony and all sporting events at the games will be free to attend for spectators.
