In-form Smith wins Syd Quirk Half Marathon

Epifani takes walking title

This year's Syd Quirk Half Marathon took place in the south of the Island in bright, dry but chilly conditions at the weekend.

In-form veteran Orran Smith clocked a time of 1:12:36 to finish 50 seconds ahead of joint-second placed Jack Okell and Christian Varley.

Sarah Webster was the fastest female finisher, coming 11th overall in 1:20:28.

Gianni Epifani won the walk in a time of 1:56:50.

Sam Fletcher came second, finishing in 2:01:31, just one second ahead of third-placed Hannah Hunter.
