
Injury put paid to David Knight's bid to get his FIM World Enduro Championship defence under way this weekend - and could rule him out for some time yet.
The Ballaugh star pulled out of the opening round in the small Catalan town of Ponts, leaving big E3 class rival Mika Ahola clear to pick up two wins.
A message posted by Knighter on his twitter page on Saturday evening read, "Disaster today, groin injury and surgery needed! Gutted!!!"
When asked how long he'd be out by one follower on the social networking site, he said, "Not sure really, but could be a while".
