Daily Telegraph article claims he is up for selection
An article in the Daily Telegraph suggests Manx cycling superstar Mark Cavendish appears certain to compete in the Omnium at this summer's Rio Olympics.
That's after deciding to put his name forward for selection.
British Cycling had set the Manx Missile a target of a top three finish in the event at the World Track Championships in London - Cav finished sixth but then went on to claim a sensational gold in the Madison with Sir Bradley Wiggins.
Cavendish will now mix his track training and road commitments ahead of the Olympics.
The article, written by Tom Cary, says British Cycling will now put his name forward to the British Olympic Association for selection for Team GB.
