Success for Sarah Astin
Island athletes fared well in the Lancashire Cross Country Championship on Saturday.
Members of the Manx Harriers team collected six medals (three gold and three silver) at Witton Park in Blackburn.
Gail Griffiths was the leading woman in the over 50s category with team success for the junior men and senior ladies.
There were also silver medals for David Mullarkey (under 20 men), Katie Astin (under 20 women) and Macy Hillier (under 13 girls).
Northern AC athletes claimed a gold, silver and two bronze medals.
Phoebe Coates took bronze in the under 17 women, as did Ella Crowe in the under 13 girls.
Meanwhile, Samuel Perry won gold in the under 11 boys and helped the team to second place.
Manx athlete Sarah Astin won the women’s race in action for her new club, City of Norwich.
