Isle of Man wins 2026 Celtic Match Races

Manx team claims Celtic Sword of State at Jurby

The Isle of Man has been crowned winners of the 2026 Celtic Match Races.

Following two days of racing action at Jurby Motodrome across last Saturday and Sunday (26-27 September), the Manx hosts finished top of the overall standings on 525 points.

Wales followed in second place on 472 points with Ireland coming home third on 389 points and Scotland rounding things out in fourth spot on 272 points.

Finishing the series at the top of the rankings saw team Isle of Man presented with the Celtic Sword of State, the first time the Manx team has won the accolade since 2010.

Outside of the regular solo and sidecar showdowns which formed the Celtic Match Races programme, Manxman, Marcus Simpson was named as the first 'Reejerey of Jurby' after claiming top spot across two 12-lap races which featured the 18 fastest solo riders at the meeting.

Following the conclusion of the 2026 event, it's also been confirmed that Ireland will be the hosts of the races in 2027.

It will take place at Mondello Park in Caragh, County Kildare with dates to be confirmed.
