Island competitors claim medals in UK and Stockholm
Two young Island jiu-jitsu competitors have enjoyed more medal success during recent competition in the UK and further afield.
Brothers, Alan and Kye Greenhalgh both secured medals during their recent involvements in both the Nordic Open Championships in Stockholm, Sweden and the Elite BJJ Junior National Gi and No-Gi Championships in Wolverhampton.
During the Swedish meeting on 28-29 March, Alan scooped gold in the yellow belt division - winning his final on points after a submission win in the last-four phase.
Elsewhere, Kye bounced back from a narrow semi-final defeat to take bronze in his class.
Alan was then back in action at the Elite BJJ Junior National Gi and No-Gi Championships in Wolverhampton last Saturday (11 April) where he managed to secure gold in Gi division on points before also claiming top spot in the No-Gi tournament with a submission victory in the gold medal match.
