Event to mark 25th anniversary of passing of racing legend
A memorial lap of the TT course is being planned next week to mark the 25th anniversary of the passing of Joey Dunlop.
The Joey Dunlop Foundation is inviting fans, riders and supporters to join together for a special lap of the Snaefell Mountain Course on the evening of Wednesday, 2 July.
That date will mark 25 years to the day since the racing legend and 26-time TT winner lost his life during a racing event in Estonia in 2000.
The foundation adds no registration or donations are required to take part but is asking anyone who does to 'ride safely and adhere to the rules of the road.'
The lap will take place on open public highways.
After the lap, the Mike Hailwood Foundation will be opening its facilities to offer refreshments.
Participants are asked to gather at the TT Grandstand pit lane on Glencrutchery Road in Douglas from 6.30pm on the day for the lap to start at 7pm.
